About the Position

The IT Service Desk plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees within Örebro Municipality have access to a digital workplace consisting of computers, mobile phones, tablets, as well as access to printers and networks. The IT Service Desk is made up of a team with a team leader who collaborates with various other functions within the department and the municipality at large.

As an IT Support Technician with us, you will assist users with access and permissions. The aim is for the municipality's employees to have a well-functioning digital workplace, with fast and effective support.

You will work based on a case management chain where orders and fault reports are received by the municipality's service desk, which handles cases and escalates more complex and time-consuming issues to back office.

Examples of Tasks:

  • receive cases via phone, email, or e-services, guide users over the phone, and solve problems via remote control or other system support
  • independently perform support on products and services within the IT and telecommunications area
  • plan and execute installations in consultation with the requester and continuously provide information about delivery times and any deviations
  • read and convey information based on new and current guidelines and technical documentation
  • share knowledge with users aiming for them not to need support regarding the same question again
  • participate in IT projects and actively work to achieve the project's set goals
  • be aware of and follow the applicable laws, policies, and procedures of the organization
  • work and document in the existing operational systems

About the Workplace

The Information Supply and Digitalization Department's mission is to develop and coordinate IT support to create conditions for an easier everyday life through the digitalization of the municipality's services and offerings.

The department is led by a department head and five unit managers, together forming the management group for the department. The Information Supply and Digitalization Department is part of the Municipal Executive Office, whose mission is to lead, govern, follow up, and develop the municipality while providing effective support to all committees and operations.

Qualifications

You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Requirements:

  • post-secondary education (YH education or equivalent) with an IT focus, or education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • experience working with computer management/support
  • experience working in a Windows environment
  • experience working with Microsoft 365
  • basic knowledge of Active Directory
  • basic knowledge of user management in Azure

Meritorious:

  • experience working according to ITIL processes
  • experience working with SCCM, Intune, and Software Center
  • experience working with printing functions
  • experience troubleshooting via remote control
